I woke up a bit uncomfortable at about 3am and was having short pains every 5 mins or so, told Mark.
Dozed till 5.30 and then got up because I wanted to be upright and go to the loo. Pains got to every 3 mins but still only 20 –30 seconds long.
6 am Mark got up and suggested ringing mum so that she could come over to look after Anna for us and to ring the hospital so they could contact an on call community mid wife. Rang at 6.15 and the midwife and mum arrived about 6.45.
Midwife examined me at 7am and I was 7 cm dilated so got the bedroom and everything ready and I got ‘comfy’ on the bed. Pains every 2 minutes but still only 30 seconds long.
7.30 waters broke.
7.36 Eve was born!
Second midwife arrived shortly after and helped sort every thing out. Anna met Eve about 30 mins later and has been very kind and affectionate towards ‘baby’
7lb 14 oz. No stitches. No pain relief again (not because I'm brave, I just couldn't concentrate on breathing, gripping the bed and Mark, and trying the gas and air).
Eve is gorgeous - just like her big sister.
